Bondi Beach. Untitled Poem

I used to live at Bondi Beach in Australia. It is a truly beautiful beach just outside Sydney. It is surrounded by other beaches and beautiful shops, sights, and people. One sunny morning I was walking along the beach at 7am. I always find the beach and the water so inspiring. I wrote the following poem:

As the waves crashed on the shore,
the wind washed them away.
And as I walked along the sand,
I felt I could not stray.
For I was walking towards the sun,
and it was a brand new day.

My Old Homey

I went to university in Australia and I lived at Bondi Beach. It is the most fabulous place that I ever had the chance of living. While I was there I surfed, played in the sand, and every once in a while, attended classes at my uni in Sydney. Something that really and truly made it so wonderful is the people that i was there with and the people whom I met along my travels. One morning at about 7am I was dragging my feet through the crystal clear water feeling the sun shine on my face, wrote my favorite poem. It goes a little something like this...

mum says i need a helmet

Last night I had a bbq with some of my besties ever. Our boy @NickiP is visiting from Curacao and we took it to the roof and roasted some meat. The sky was full of colour and the tower was unobstructed.Mum rung me last night knowing that I'm back on the bike and insisted that ask I my online friends to help me find something to protect my head. When I was younger Mum said "No more riding bike without helmet" and from then on I never rode a bike until I moved out of the house. I had a BMX bike in Bondi that had pegs on the back. This red cruiser is my favorite.Please help me find a red helmet that's not mortifying. I want to wear a helmet. Wearing a helmet may not be 'the coolest' but neither is being brain dead.

Just because you are in Australia, doesn't mean you can wear your bathing suit EVERYWHERE. When we got there we thought that it was a-ok so we went all over the place dressed like this. The ferry, subway, lunch, Opera House. Really obvious that you're a tourist if you do that.

This is us getting groceries. We pushed the cart home with our umbrellas. This doesn't make you look like a tourist, but rather an idiot. Oh, what fun we had!

Today, I am reminded of a poem I wrote in Australia. It was 7am, I was walking with my feet in the ocean on Bondi Beach. It was my favorite time of day. Peace, bliss, energy, sunlight ; it was freedom. This untitled poem is my most favorite one I've written, I think. There are so many! I'm in the process of picking my favorites so I can have a new book out later this year. Enjoy!

I just watched this video on Fifty People One Question. I like the site concept. They have asked two questions and received nine hundred and sixty-four responses from five hundred and thirty-one cities. It was quite lovely watching this video.

My answer: I'd like to wake up at Bondi Beach on Hall Street with my sister and a few of my best friends. It is beautiful there. It's summer, it's over 25 degrees Celsius and the forecast says sunny all week.

When I lived at the beach I wrote all the time. It was so inspiring and free to be there, I wrote this in 2004 the pic is from Aquabumps. They have the best shots from Bondi and other amazing beaches. I always miss it when I see them but i'm also reminded of how great it is.

sunshine? i'll need the afternoon off

Tomorrow is going to be SUPER awesome, I'm talking like 18 degrees and 100% sunshine. For this reason, I have appropriately taken the afternoon off. Tonight is going to be a busy one. I'm heading to meet Miss Kingi Carpenter at Peach Beserk on Queen then to the Redwire launch party. Peach Beserk is having a launch party for their new Online Dress Designer. Yahooo! I've loved this shop forever and am yet to own anything. Kingi said to bring along something to print and I've carefully packed this little red number from AA. It's washed & ready to become something new!

I had a lovely lunch outside today. I wasn't sure what to eat and I recalled a time back in Bondi when I was really struggling for money. I used to go to the deli and get a bun and piece of meat and that was lunch for just a couple bux.

It's April.
It snowed last night today. I'm ready for winter to just go away! It makes me feel grumpy and grouchy and cold. It makes my bones feel old. It turns my smile upside down. The grass is looking white and brown.

I used to live here and I want to go back. Get me a ticket, I'm ready to pack! Bondi I miss you, I think you miss me too ♥

winter workout

So, this winter I've decided to actually work out while hibernating instead of just sitting on my couch and dreaming of summer like I usually do. Fortunately I live in a condo where there are two gyms, a court, yoga studio and pool. I really haven't any excuse to be out of shape. My goal is to be the most fit I have ever been. I used to live in Australia at Bondi Beach, known as the most famous beach in the world. When you live in a place like that, you are surrounded by babes and beauties and you force yourself to be in shape. This however, was several years ago and I was running, surfing and doing regular yoga. I've been going to thew gym a few weeks and am starting to see results. I hid my face because I just came from the gym and before that just came from my sleep in my bed and look tired. The muscles are on their way!!

sharing the randomness - 25 casie facts

This has been floating around Facebook since January. I figured since I've been tagged by a ton of friends it is about time I shared 25 random facts about me.

The rules go as follows: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. Blah, blah, blah...

Here we go:

1. I was born in Canada to New Zealand parents and have dual citizenship (Canadian/New Zealand).
2. I danced ballet, tap and jazz as a kid and completed in competitions across Ontario as well as Showstopper in NY & Myrtle Beach, SC. I was 5 with fake lashes and red lipstick!
3. I wrote a book and became a published Canadian Author at 14. It was titled Jeans: An Anthology of Poetry and Prose. The Toronto Star wrote and article about me titled "Push Over Keats, Teen Muse Steps Ahead".
   
4. I went to Uni in Australia and lived at Bondi Beach. It was the best year because I learned the most about myself and WHO I really am.
   
5. I hate scary movies. I get queezy and I don't like to put bad images in my head. I'm crazy enough already!
6. I still have all my Barbies and their vintage outfits. I hope to get them made in my size one day.
7. I have a Green Belt in Tae Know Do and once knocked out a boy (Note: James Roszell) in grade 8 at school. Mum thought I'd get in trouble but I said "Mum, do you think he's gonna tell anyone?"
   
8. I hate the number three. I don't do anything in threes.
   
9. I grew up around vintage cars and vintage clothes. My Dad builds hot rods and mum was a photog for Canadian Street Rod Magazine.
   
10. I named my sister Jenie because EVERY doll I had before she was born had that name. I love her.
    
11. When I was 16 and had braces, I did a commercial for an electric toothbrush that aired in the US.
    
12. My Mum is my hero. She is so inspiring to me and has instilled good values and confidence.
    
13. I'm a very loving, positive girl. I tell my friends I love them all the time just so they know ♥
    
14. I ride an red vintage bike with all summer and it makes me feel free! I love it!
    
15. I am very artsy. I like to draw, paint, write, make jewelry, sew clothes, pastels, chalk, you name it I do it. Borderline Artistic.
    
16. I went swimming with wild dolphins on the coast of the Bay of Islands in New Zealand.
    
17. My middle name is Diana after Princess Diana. My mum loved her.
    
18. I have more clothes than any friend I've ever had. It's an issue but I wouldn't change it!
19. I have conversations with myself. I think I'm funny. We're best friends.
    
20. I've won a beauty pageant and a bikini contest. Once I was a Sunshine Girl. My hair was long and red and I had huge boobs.
    
21. My favorite gift I ever received was a hardcover Thesaurus from my parents in 1996.
    
22. I'm addicted to Twitter. I love it. I learn so much and get smarter and smarter each day. Follow me @casiestewart
    
23. My Dad was a professional gymnastics/trampoline coach when I was a kid. I'm flexible and can still do the splits.
    
24. I have a bad memory. I started my blog to keep more memories and no one read it but ME for at least the first year. Now I write about things that can help make the world a better place, review products people send me and share my thoughts on life. It has really helped my memory and writing is my passion.
25. I have lots of different talents and believe I can achieve anything. My career goal is to be the Awesomest I can be.
