I'm a big fan if any type of dance party and especially improv dance parties. Might you recall the subway dance party? I've seen this video along with various others from improv groups around the world. This one, a T-Mobile commercial was filmed at Liverpool Station. It's my favorite. I'd love to take part in something like this in our wonderful city! Mum sent it to me and I thought other peeps might like to check it out also. Enjoy!

The Subway Dance Party 2009 was a hit. Jenie & I went. It was fun. There were heaps of peeps. Check out the video for the experience. We went to a Subway Dance Party After Party and it was rocking at 7:30pm. I had a blast. Looking forward to the next Improv Toronto event.

Just Dance!

Tonight I'm taking my sister to see a show that I am quite excited about. The show is entitled "Bloodletting and other pleasant things" by Tony Chong at Dancemakers Centre for Creation. I'm quite looking forward to it. I don't have much knowledge about the show yet however you will all know what I think about it tomorrow! It is in the Distillery and starts at 8pm if you wanna come with us. I'm looking forward to hot bodies dressed in minimal clothing and a roller coaster of emotion expressed through contemporary dance. My sis and I have always been involved in dancing. We both started at the age of 3 with Meyerhofer Dance Academy in our home town and we both had fake eyelashes and hairpieces at 5 years old. We travelled to New York, Myrtle Beach, around Ontario competing in many, many competitions. With that thought, the two of us are good critics for tonight's show. ♥

Raptors Dance Pak hottie - Miss Jenie, my sis!

In the front row of the finals, my sister stands near the far left as one of the newest members of the NBA's Toronto Raptors Dance Pak (white shorts).

I am so proud of you girl!! Look for Jenie during the upcoming Raptors season cheering on the team, motivating the crowd & strutting her amazing dance skills. The Toronto Sun presented auditions at the ACC on Sunday. About 100 girls tried out for the 14 available spots on the team.

I'm home watching the Oscars with friends and comp unit. It's pretty fun because the Twitter community is ALSO sitting at home doing the same thing as me. It's actually pretty funny. There were screams when Brangelina were first seen. There's heaps of comments about the outfits. I'm following the comments of Tweeps in Toronto.

I've attached a dance solo. My friend said I look like Waldo's girlfriend and I think that is hot. Where is Waldo anyways?

This quote came in Twitter post by an experienced blogger I follow on Twitter named John Chow. People have always said "You're crazy" or as I dance by myself in the middle of the dance floor with my arms over my head "That's Casie, she's crazy". For a while I thought, "Oh no, they think I'm crazy" but that was followed by thinking, "no, you are just different and they are all the same." (Yes, I have had this conversation with myself more than once.) I would rather be seen as crazy, than ordinary any day.
As soon as someone says that you are crazy, they really give you the power and freedom of expression to do whatever you want. You can transcend all boundaries of what people consider normal, because they already know you're 'out there'. This motivates me and gives me encouragement.

How happy the audience was with the performance?

The show was moving and creatively expressive.
It was flowing with emotion and bursting with exuberance.

I felt this way recently.
I was moved. I was inspired. I wanted to dance.

I recently attended show that was graced with American Apparel and bare skin. Sex. Identity. Kettle one. Sweat. Violence. Strength. Dancers moving to elegant sounds and screaming heartfelt emotion. There was pain and love and seeds of anger. It was fierce and touching. It was poignant and personal.

The show ‘BloodLetting and Other Things’ is choreographed by Tony Chong and performed by Dancemakers and the Centre for Creation.

going back to school...cool school.

This morning I stopped into School Bakery & Cafe in Liberty Village before work. I was pleased with my coffee and toast. The prices are a little more than most other morning spots but, I liked the way it looked. I checked out their site and it seems they have Friday Night School dance party that looks like fun by the hot babe in the the ad. They way all their stuff written online and offline has gotten my attention for sure. I love the typography of the big 'schoolish' letters and the chalk boards. I think I'll be going back to School.

2009 ArtVenture: The AGO (Ontario Art Gallery)

Last night I had the pleasure of going to the AGO, again. TGFFW (Thank God For Free Wednesdays). I love it there. So many inspiring ideas which arouse my wild & creative mind. I decided to make my own art and snuck a few shots in. Please don't be mad my dear AGO or Mr. Gehry for it is so lovely I just could not help myself. This is my favorite. You know I love Andy.I really enjoy some of the modern stuff and photography. I was looking at some of the pictures and I saw this total stud, I don't know what it is about him. I have a thing for nerdy dudes.I love the staircase. How is winds around and shows beautiful views of the city lights. It makes me happy to dance around the stairs as they twist and turn and travel higher.Its is super busy on Wednesday's since it is free. The gallery opens at 6pm and closes at 8:30pm. This is not enough time to get around the whole place. There are many nooks and cranny's of artistic expression. Coat check is $1 and you have to check your bags. You are allowed to sketch in pencil, but not in pen. I like to write.

you make music to my ears

Last week I had the pleasure of attending an event bridging the League of Kickass Under 30 and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. The League is 'a social network for young leaders and influencers that are the future of their industry' & in partnership with the League of Kickass Business People. The League (#LOKU30) had the privileged of having Music Director, Peter Oundjian and VP of Marketing & Business Development Mike Forrester speak to prior us to the performance . They both were great to listen to and spoke about the TSO, the value of the symphony in Toronto and the importance of the arts.

The performanceI saw is part of the New Creations Festival and featured acclaimed violinist and Deutsche Grammophon recording artist Hilary Hahn, Cellist Shauna Rolston and a beautiful work for the string orchestra by Tōru Takemitsu.

There was even an afterparty post show where I mingled with musicians over cocktails. It was a truly uplifting experience. I'm really looking forward to returning. If you didn't know the symphony was this cool, you do now. I am excited to inform you that TSO on June 20 & 21st you can see The Music of ABBA! #OMG. I wondering if it would be frowned upon to dance in the aisles? All I need is a ticket because I doubt I could stay in my chair since they are playing everything from Dancing Queen to Take a Chace on Me. Totally awesome!

spring has sprung out!

I went for three walks today. Yes, three. Hello spring, beach body and bike riding!

Walk 1. Brekky with some friends at the Old York Bar & Grill. I was in good company and we laughed our heads off at continuous random hilarity.

Walk 2. Went for a beautiful stroll in the Toronto Music Garden. "The garden was built in Inspired by the pictorial element in Johann Sebastian Bach's Suites for Unaccompanied Cello with each dance movement within the suite corresponding to a different section in the garden." [Learn more] I'm working on a video of my Toronto Symphony experience. Will publish later today! Took some cool photos by the water & in the garden.

Walk 3. My roommate and I walked down by South Beach & Marina 2. There is still ice on the water and it looked pretty neat. I did not know there was so many little places to walk around.

Today it is damn ass cold again. I'm wearing the warmest unit on my head, found it in Mum's basement. It's a Turtle Fur headband from the 80's! Love it. I used to wear it skiing when I was a kid. This evening I will be attending two events that are artistic and appealing. Planning on going with my sister and probably going to make a dance moves vid also.
