Looking Good All Over, Barry.

A dear friend notified me of something very interesting going on at www.economist.com. You can login as a member of the site (or signup!), choose your country and pick who you would vote for in the upcoming US Election. It is evident by all my posts that I've got a thing for Obama. I was pleased and surprised to see that the whole world, the ones whom are interested in The Economist, would vote for Obama as well.

The countries that chose McCain are mainly concentrated in one part of the world and McCain leads in Iraq, of all countries, with 67% of the vote. Interesting point maybe? In Canada the favorite is clear, 89% of Canadians that have voted online, vote for Obama. the polls are refreshed every 3 hours and overall there are 9,120 votes for Obama and only 270 for McCain.Check it out if you find it interesting by clicking the links or the map.

One day to go for the 56th US Election!!

Go Obama!!

CNN is reporting the following for the US Election tomorrow (see image). What an exciting time! I hope and prey Obama wins. It will be a real shame for the US to have old fart McCain in office for the next term. It truly is time for change in the US. Their economy and state of the nation has become such a mess since Bush has been in office (including his investment in the war on Iraq, however, we won't touch on that item!).
I'll be at a pub with friends watching the future of the US unfold!!

Educate yourselves! I'm sharing some interesting facts I found here about the election & candidates:
  • Either candidate would become the first president born outside the Continental United States, as Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and McCain was born at Coco Solo, Panama Canal Zone, a US naval base.
  • This 2008 election will mark the first time since the election of John F. Kennedy in 1960 that a sitting Senator will be elected President of the United States.
  • The new president elected in 2008 will be the first president in 184 years to take office after multiple consecutive two-term presidential administration (Bush & Clinton)
  • McCain would be the oldest U.S. president upon ascension to the presidency at age 72 years
  • Barack Obama and John McCain are 24 years and 340 days apart in age.
  • The 2008 election marks the first time since the 1928 election in which neither an incumbent President nor an incumbent Vice President ran for their party's nomination in the presidential election

NOW Obama!!

Two of my best friends Tahnee & Aga grace the pages of NOW! Magazine this week. They were in Dundas Square last week celebrating the wonderful Presidential victory of Mr. Barack Obama.

The caption reads:
who: Barack Obama supporters
where: Dundas Square

what: Celebrating Obama’s historic victory in the U.S. presidential election.
More coverage, page 16.

This photo, on Tahnee's FB is worth at least a thousand words. That's my girl!

i was at a party with obama smoking cigs

My friend had a wonderful dream and this is what happened...

Him:
You were in my dream this morning
Him:
We were at a party with Barrack Obama - but it was real casual

Him: It was at his house and we were sitting on a picnic table
Me:
omg really?
Him:
And the press rolled up and jumped out and started taking photos of us
Me:
how did I look?
Him:
It was nuts - and hyper realistic

Me:
was his wife there?
Him:
You looked great, you were wearing a strapless summer dress

Me:
No wonder I woke up feeling amazing!
Him:
And your hair was long
Him:
Ha-ha
Me:
oh great
Him:
Michelle was not there
Him:
Just Obama - we were smoking cigarettes
Me
Sounds like a lovely party
Me:
I'd love to smoke cigs with Obama
Him:
Ha-ha, it was so surreal
me:
I love it
Me:
Thanks for Sharing it with me. I was glad to be there with you in my summer dress.
Him:
No problem - have a
nice day
Me:
You too

i'm bangin' obama!

Aha!! Got you with that one. Has it gone to far with yet another 'Obama' product? The condoms say 'use with good judgment', as if he is happy to have you banging and reaching for a condom with his face on it. I wonder if the laytex itself has an Obama face on it?
The Chicago Tribune published an article saying the 'the amount of Obama-related goods for sale is unprecedented, historians say. No president has seen so many people sell so many things so shamelessly: collectors' coins and plates, bath towels, bobbleheads and buttons just about anything that can have an image applied to it.' I think it's hilarious.

he's totally here, now, Obama

Just snagged these images from CBC & National Post Live Blogs. The National Post, CBC and Whitehouse are all covering Obama's visit to Canada in live blog form. If you didn't know already blogging is really cool. Twitter's second highest trending topic today is #obamawa.
In the photo below U.S. President Barack Obama walks with Canadian Governor General Michaelle Jean upon his arrival at the Ottawa International Airport in Ottawa, today.
This was at thew Ottawa airport when he arrived. (CBC Live Blog)

Fingers Crossed!

This quote has been floating around online and was first heard on National Public Radio (NPR). I think its great. I'm having some friends over to watch history unfold this evening. We've all got our fingers crossed for Obama.
Rosa sat, so Martin could walk…
Martin walked, so Obama could run…
Obama is running, so our children can fly!

bye bye bush, come to mama obama

With tomorrow being Obama';s big day I was snooping around and found some interesting stuff. There are heaps of 'Bye Bye Bush' themed things buzzing around. I've seen a few that really were quite good. The winner is surely Ritual Spa on King West. They sent out the following clever promotion:

In order to celebrate the inauguration of the new President of the United States of America, Barack Obama , Ritual is offering 20% off all Brazilian bikini waxes on inauguration day, Tuesday January 20th 2009. So say farewell fuzz, and bye bye Bush!!

I send it to a friend and we had a good chuckle over it. Thought you might enjoy it also! I found a 'Bye Bye Bush' game here that was kinda fun to play for about 15 seconds. You get to throw your show at Bush. There is also a site counting down to inauguration day titled byebyebush.org. It's ugly.

Year of the Ox Brings Good Luck & Obama

On the Western calendar the start of the Chinese New Year falls today and marks the The Year of the Ox. I'm wishing all my Chinese friends and readers a Happy New Year!

In my office we are having a catered buffet of Chinese food for lunch. I am absolutely starving so I'm counting down the minutes. Just looking at this picture makes my tummy rumble!!
Famous studs who are born in Ox years: Johann Sebastian Bach, Napoleon Bonaparte, Charlie Chaplin, George Clooney, Walt Disney, Anton Dvorak, Clark Gable, George Frideric Handel, Oscar De La Hoya, Richard Nixon, Barack Obama, Aishwarya Rai, Wayne Rooney, Vincent Van Gogh

guess who's now following me on twitter?

My homeboy Barry Obama!!

Once I got this I sent him a message. I wonder is he, or his 'Twitter updater" will message me back. That would be a dream. Maybe Barack Obama updates his own Twitter and he really is made up of all the wonderful that I think he is. I'll stick with that positive mindset.

just one more day ♥

Sorry about your Grandma Barry.

"She was somebody who was a very humble person and a very plain-spoken person,'' he said.

"She was one of those quiet heroes that we have all across America. They're not famous. Their names aren't in the newspapers,'' Obama said.

"But each and every day they work hard. They look after their families.

They sacrifice for their children and their grandchildren. They aren't seeking the limelight. All they try to do is just do the right thing.

"And in this crowd there are a lot of quiet heroes like that, mothers and fathers, grandparents who have worked hard and sacrificed all their lives,'' drawing satisfaction from the hope of a better life for their own offspring.

"That's what America is about,'' Obama exclaimed, his voice rising to a shout as the crowd responded with a roar.

"That's what we're fighting for. And North Carolina, in just one more day, we have the opportunity to honour all those quiet heroes all across America and all across North Carolina,'' he said.

"We can bring change to America to make sure that their work and their sacrifice is honoured. That's what we're fighting for.'' From the Sydney Morning Herald

He's such a hero.

I see a resemblance, no?

Pres '08: Oct 21 - Obama (D) 50%, McCain (R) 42%
I really hope that Barry beats John in this race. It looks like he is kicking his but by being so Web 2.0 because there are heaps of posts that are praising Obama yet they fall short for McCain.

obama rockin' to single ladies

I saw this in ET last night and loved it. His name is Iman Crossman and he is known on YouTube as AlphaCat. He has a bunch of videos that are hilarious. His views are up in the millions and he is quite funny. You know I love darling Barry Obama and this guy is almost the next best thang yo!! It's amazing the viral effect that something like this can have. He told ET that he has some 'projects in the works' and I say good for him.

Watch the vid on youtube.

I wonder who I could do a video of? Any suggestions? Maybe...lady Gaga or Paris?

totally wired

Today I got the new issue of Wired Magazine. Yahoo!! The cover article is titles 'The Truth About Cancer: Don't try to cure it. Just find it.". Looks interesting! There's also an article about Obama & a smarter plan for tech and science. Looking forward to sitting down to read it over the holidays!

Tina Fey is cool but Palin is not so cool.
Check her out 'raising the roof'.
it inspired me to write a little som'tin som'tin...
my name is palin and baby i'm failin'
raisin the roof like i'm raisin concern
in a few weeks i'll be back on that stage

Spending Orgy to Save Wall Street?

Mr. Obama countered by seeking to tie Mr. McCain to the economic policies of the Bush White House and its "orgy of spending" and argued that he was out of touch with the needs of American workers. (article)
