green is my favorite colour

St. Patrick's Day was a fun time. It's pretty hard to screw up a night filled with everyone feeling 'green' and filling themselves with beer. I had green stuff all over me. The Brazen Head pub was packed so we filled up a 20 person table at a different location and started the fun.
In the spirit of 'green' I'd like to point out a few things. My office building is green and has an Inorganic market for electronic waste. This is a growing problem in our world and I am proud that they are on it.
This beautiful mural is my favorite shade of green. I walk past it everyday.
Someone keeps spray painting this on garbage cans and buildings around. I am a fan of creative street art and creative graffiti. This is neither. I know infowars and what it is about but seriously, this is totally unnecessary. #FAIL.

he's totally here, now, Obama

Just snagged these images from CBC & National Post Live Blogs. The National Post, CBC and Whitehouse are all covering Obama's visit to Canada in live blog form. If you didn't know already blogging is really cool. Twitter's second highest trending topic today is #obamawa.
In the photo below U.S. President Barack Obama walks with Canadian Governor General Michaelle Jean upon his arrival at the Ottawa International Airport in Ottawa, today.
This was at thew Ottawa airport when he arrived. (CBC Live Blog)

if you're canadian, sing it, sing it,

I sang or listened to our national anthem everyday while growing up. I learned it in both official languages. I still remember it and can sing it the way we used to, like half English half French. My parents grew up singing God Defend New Zealand. They did not grow up in Canada like I did. I have dual citizenship' but I live here and feel Canadian. New Zealand has two national anthems of equal standing - 'God Defend New Zealand' and 'God Save The Queen'.
The reason:

'National songs, ballads and hymns have a tendency to elevate the character of a people and keep alive the fire of patriotism in their breasts'. The Saturday Advertiser and New Zealand Literary Miscellany, 1 July 1876
Honestly, I think if you go to Canadian school and work in the Canadian economy and and choose to be Canadian, learn the fucking anthem as a kid in school. Some people in New Brunswick don't think so. In summary of you havent seen the news "principal's decision, eliminate tradition, singing O Canada, sparked outrage, parents, the country...heated debate...blah blah blah".

Sweet Tasing Vodka Drinks

I sit and drink
and write and such
and around me
is life and love so much
still why and when
I'm tough and feel so down,
not worthy of a crown.
Tattooed friends and vodka drinks
around we sit and share our thinks
no matter what fun we do
its always me, alive and true
And as i sit, the friends are gone
a little drunk, a bit withdrawn
i know for sure its me i love,
but to share my heart, that, i think of.
