generation why me? urgh, gimme a break.

You may have seen the article in the Toronto Star this weekend on Saturday's front cover entitled 'Generation Why Me?' It was related to recession, broken dreams and delayed ambitions.

So I think 30 IS the new 20 and after reading the article, I refer to what Mum likes to call 'poor me syndrome'. There are alot of people who are just lazy and unmotivated. This will never change, no matter what happens in the world. Sure, we're faced with environmental/ economic/war crisis happening but we also have more access to information, more opportunity to succeed and more ways to gaining expertise for free. Hello Internet? There are things out there you just have to go and get them, the strong will survive. I've got a B.Comm in International Business & marketing diploma - I work in the IT dept coordinating project sfor an online gaming company. Before this was the fashion industry! I've worked in restaurants, done PR blah blah blah...I've never had a problem finding a job because I've always been determine NOT to fail.I also agree with @d_hock the most, if someone is going to complain & wah wah about 'poor me, I'm GenY', I say...shut your face. Get up and do something about it! I have many more thoughts the awesomeness that is #GenyTO but I'll save that for another day.

I'm watching a Beautiful Mind on Diva.

Every time I watch this movie I feel a special connection to it. I have many times throughout my life felt like an outsider because of the way I thought about things. It has always been different than anyone else since I was a wee little lady. Mum said I used to pick out all my own outfits and match them my own way, I used to make art that was beyond my years too. I remember Mum getting into a fight with my grade 8 art teacher because she hid my work in her office and when Mum went to buy it in the art sale, it wasn't there. This is all interesting but my question is, what really defines a genius? A test? A way of thinking? Being really good at something?

My dear pops and sister have been listening to the Kings of Leon album 'Only by the Night'. Dad gave me a copy and I very much enjoy listening to it. The sound is music to my ears, literally.

Something I really enjoy is the Rorschach ink blot style cover. I first learned about these things in high school for Mrs. Weidinger, my marketing/entrepreneurship teacher. She was one of my favorites. I remember having very unique answers to those other kids in my class group. Looking back, totally not surprising. I now call it borderline artistic. I've always been the crazy weird one, even though I was well liked in school. That was probably because I had big boobs back then.

Who Has The Biggest Brain? on Facebook. It's brain training and fun. Calculation, visual, memory and logic. So far I have a nerd brain, this is not surprising. The more you play the better you get. I don't play many games but I like this one. although I'D REALLY LOVE A NINTENDO Wii ♥.

Savant syndrome—sometimes abbreviated as savantism—is not a recognized medical diagnosis, but researcher Darold Treffert defines it as a rare condition in which persons with developmental disorders (including autism spectrum disorders) have one or more areas of expertise, ability or brilliance that are in contrast with the individual's overall limitations.

Individuals with the syndrome are often simply called savants. This can be a source of confusion since savant can also mean a person of learning, especially one of great knowledge in a particular subject.
