whoa throw back mama

This evening I connected my trusty old external drive to find something and it's like a time capsule. I also realize that I keep everything, take a zillion pictures and am a total loser sometimes. I've been through a few laptops over the years and I keep backing that ass up on the same drive and now it's like those boxes in mum's basement and dad's storage filled with memories. I've had so many different hair colours, lengths and cuts. You may have seen this long red haired one? Crazy.I also saw this crazy streak in the sky just before the sun set tonight. I had a friend that was all about looking into conspiracy theories and she was convinced it was chemtrails.

i went to my favorite store. apt 909

My favorite store in the city is Apt. 909. I love it. I go in, love it most when I'm the only one there. I drop all my stuff and take off my shoes. The music is great and the atmostphere is like stepping in to another world. I got new glasses and a pretty dress.

"Internet stalking? Who is really stalking who?

Me sitting here on my computer. You would know by looking online that I have been 'Facebooking' for about the last hour or so. Chatting, writing notes, tagging friends in photos, and checking my events and sh** like that. At work, when I log on in the morning, scripts run, and documents are recorded with times, dates, locations, ISP's, with IBM's all over the place. I recall 1984, the classic by George Orwell. I remember the book vaguely, which I may even recite by memory. I think I read only the 'Coles Notes' and still have the hardcover at Mums' house from the local public library circa 1998.

In a recent discussion, I came to the conclusion that anyone...government, organizations, the Internet, anyone could be stalking me right now. In the world I live in, I am run by the Internet and my computer. I rely on them for knowledge, weather, news, fashion, gossip, history, travel, alerts and everything else that I don't know yet but Google does, and, I'll tell you in a minute. I start to think further about the potential of this awareness of what I am actually doing, all the time.

The boys start talking as I come up with an idea. Imagine the government infused our blood with a specific DNA that is able to be seen and or tracked due to its scientific makeup. What a scary thought.

You could see what we are moving particles of matter."

didn't over do it

I was successful. I feel good about it.

Didn't eat too much or spend money that I didn't have (as people often do!). I had a great time over the holidays. I managed to make it home to see my parents and spend a meal with each one. I got to hang with a bunch of the hometown crew. I miss them quite dearly.

Found this in the basement which I wore for half the day:
Did some artsy stuff on Christmas Day waiting for dinner:
I ran into an old friend...
Made a shirt for friend who spent a
little too much time at the Drake recently:
I made all my cards for family and friends this year as I have before. It's so much better to do it that way. I also hunted around for some gorgeous vintage scarves that were carefully packaged up for my friends. It's lovely when they open the present knowing that I made the card and a special effort to give them something I know they will love.
I went shopping on boxing day and we had a total riot. Shopping with mum and sister is the best. We seem to have this way about us that we laugh and laugh and laugh and forget that there is even anyone else around. We all found this great mod dress and all tried it on. The other people in the store were having a good chuckle and after seeing the photo, I reckon you will too.

I found a real jem, these vintage boots that fit me perfect. It's great having small feet for vintage shoes. It's rare to find big sizes in amazing boots. Well, that's my experience. Check out these babies. Oooh yeah.

full vintage girl

I found something cool as I was looking for inspiration in photos of vintage girls. I came across this cool babe from Fullerton Vintage, a motorscooter shop in the OC. I have always wanted a scooter. I'd like if Dad could build something rad for me! My Dad builds hot rods and cool stuff.

Hooters: I used to think about it when I was young...

and then....I tried on the outfit and it was perfect!
Don't ya think!!

One of my Fav Things

One of my Fav Things. Found it at a garage sale on Playter Crescent around Danforth, my old hood. The Mum at the house worked on movie sets and had heaps of unused costume shiite. It was totally rad. I wonder where this jem may have traveled!!!:
"She just couldn't relax.
She knew one day she would own enough clothes
and everything in her life would be better."

1992 Fashion = Love & Passion

Last week I picked up this book from a second hand book store on Queen Street. As a child I often spent time sewing with mum at the kitchen table. She used to make all of our dance costumes for competitions and recitals. As for myself, I'd come up with some interesting fashion designs and sometimes dress up my little sister in my 'unique' styles. The book has a great introduction to designing & drawing and the best part, it is from 1992! Second hand book stores are so full of life and wonder, you can go on an adventure, travel in time or visit countries & royals. I'm looking forward to the winter to bust out the sewing machine and create some vintage classic, 1992 inspired pieces!
