If you watch tv or moves you might see my face pop up from a couple years of random shows, background work & really wanting be on tv. I've since chosen the internet and appear here everyday. This show doesn't stop.

I loved this outfit. There were like 250 of us dressed like this for the Beta House party scene at U of T & Toronto Film Studios. It was hot. My sister is one of the Girls of Pie.

I did a show for W Network in 2006 and got to know a bunch of producers etc. One contacted me about a year later to do the pilot of a new show on Slice called The List. The show's all about living life to the fullest. Host Liza Fromer helps people cross crap off their life list, you get it like the Bucket List.

They wanted it to be exciting and a bit extreme, calling me was obviously the right choice. They came up with the idea, told me and I was like "uh, yeah sure I'll do that".

They put me in a big wooden box at King and Bay in the middle of the financial district. It was a hot summer day and like 8am.

I took off all my clothes and replaced them with flesh coloured nipple stickies and a tiny thong.

There was a guy in box airbrushing a business suit all over me. Once it was done, around lunch time, the door opened and amongst a crowded street, mid day, I came out.

I walked a block and back a few times and turned heads. It was exciting. Everyone was doing second-takes cause it looked like a real suit. It was a fun experience, I wasn't even scared. I loved it.

Just got off the phone with Mum and she said " YOU NEVER TOLD ME THAT!" haha

So nice out yesterday. I could have let the day last forever. Today too. I like it hot. They were talking about mozzies while we were sitting in the grass and I was like 'no, what mosquitos? I don't feel them'. Biggest loser. Today I'm scratchy-mc-scratcherton.

The baddest bikes around. Pete was having a one night stand with this one and testing it out. Cervelo got the green jerz in Tour de France and they're partying this week. Picture makes me giggle cause the leg looks kinda like the bike to me.

I was in friend heaven last night hugging everyone so tight. I missed you guys! I haven't seen so many favorite faces all together for a while. I met some cool new people and my purse is full of business cards. Lost my keys but my glasses have been located.

Pretty much everyone in the joint tweets. I met two people that were don't, how weird. Follow @pinkbrickroad and @dariusbashar, they're cool kids. Patio was beau-teeeee-ful. Fun, sun, friends, beer, music, like OMG can it get any better.

Then I met this guy who is nice (sorry I forgot your name) and we chatted but he had something to say, he doesn't get my blog. Like really, what is the point? Um, well, ah....it started because I wanted to remember stuff better and I was bored and I like writing. Now, people read it and like it and some people even say I'm inspiring. How cool is THAT! Me thanks Mum and Daddio for inspiring me.

My stickers are always a hit. I make stickers because I think it's better than a business card at this kind of thing. They get stuck on peoples clothes and name tags and they wear them around proudly. You can't wear a business card around and look as cool as you do with a sticker. Plus, at the end of the night you have the sticker with my URL and Twitter making me easy to find. Plus, the picure makes it hard to forget my pretty little face. Ha!! Two points for me.
We all tuned in to hear the exciting news that Redwire is now Sprouter , "an application facilitating real-time discussion and networking". Their next step in their mission "to provide exceptional tools for start up founders." Just as I was listening in the door came Toronto bloggers Ad Girl and Tech Nerd.

Darius though it was really funny to pretend to toss my baby Bobby laptop around. haha, as in not funny! Darius runs the social network of do-googers Daily Challenge. I've worked with them on a few great events over the last year and I also won my little blue steel camera in a Daily Challenge contest. Yahooo! I do good.

It was a busy day and all the beer fun has left me a little tired today. I'd like to be laying in the grass floating in pool with my sunnies on. Oh, remember when I was all gung-ho about Sobey's opening next door and being 24 hours? I set up a Twitter account cause I thought it would be funny to say what was happening there in the wee hours of the morning etc. Well it's not 24 hours but they DO want the Twitter account. Badass.

I've always been a little different. I when I little I would mix match the couple outfits Mum would lay out on the bed to wear and make my own. I wore two different socks one time, orange and green to match the shorts shirt combo. I remember it. A parent turned to Mum and said "You're gonna let her go like that?" as Mum says, "If she feels confident like that then I'm not gonna stop her". Thank you Mum. It's important to be different. Mum made the dress I wore to the Notable TV party about 16 posts ago.

The video of the party just came out, go watch it now! Julian talked about the the Notable brand in his toast (3:28) which is my favorite part after Raymi and I at 2:40. haha j.k. There are some cool smart young people featured on Notable TV and I like how Julian wants to give people something different. I think that's important. I truly love the amount of motivation & determination amongst Generation Y in Toronto. There are some really cool things going on in this city. Makes me proud!

Is shining down today. Its warm out. I feel happy. I'm extremely grateful for the friends I have in my life. I love you. I jumped out of bed this morning and put on one of my new bathing suits from the Billabong sample sale. I got two amazing bikini's and a hot one piece. Great deals. It's still on today at 67 Mowat if you're interested. There's mad deals. I think I'll be wearing them all day! Still no plan for later, we'll just have to see how the day goes! I like it that way.

Each year when I birthday rolls around I feel a bit of anxiety planning something that's 'all about me'. I know that seems surprising because I write about myself each day, but this is like a diary and I write to remember. I love planning events, but events for other people, charity and helping others. It's easier when it's not all about me, although I obviously like the attention. So, when everyone asks 'what are you doing for your birthday?' I rarely have one answer and it usually results in anxiety. I'm gonna be home tomorrow night and have some friends over. I think it would be asshole of me to expect a big shout out when I don't have the cash to pay for it all. Wait till next year...I'll start planning waaaay early to alleviate the last minute anxiety I'm facing now. All week I've been seeing friends and doing fun things. The things is, that's not much different from all the other days. I try to make sure that my friends know I love them and that I am very thankful to have them in my life. This the best birthday gift anyone could ask for. This picture I love.

I wake up and have a quick shower before getting dressed. I wear pants today. I put on a dress shirt, the tuxedo one and a heart shaped locket without any photos in it. It's long and silver and dangles as I gather my things and reach for my coat. Glasses, keys, phone, camera, do you have everything? I say to myself as I pick up my laptop carry case and head for the elevator. It's not too slow today, I get to the ground and lead the herd our the door to work. I dry off my seat from the rain. I unlock and mount my bicyclette. The air is cool but warm on my face as I photograph the skyline over the lake. I steer towards the office. It's cloudy and grey yet very beautiful. I feel free and alive and barely notice how my body aches for the first two days back on the road. It feels great. I arrive in the village greeted by the hustle and bustle of a place that thrives from nine to five. The train must have just left. There is a pleasant joy in the air; spring is here to stay. Smiling inside, I ride over the old brick road through the train tracks to the back of the factory. For the first time I dream of working in an art factory, my own. I park my bike and head inside. I arrive in ten minutes, this ten minutes glides me through the day. I'm ready to work today. I have the day off tomorrow, it's my 27 birthday: May 8, 2009.

The day begins to come to an end and I find my mind wandering, wondering. I listen to CBC Classical online. I feel relaxed and look forward to riding home and the breeze in my hair. I'm picking up my Edie Sedgwick dress from Peach Beserk this evening. Made to order and tailored to fit. I always liked Andy Warhol, as long as I can remember. I was walking through this outdoor mallway over the weekend, I think it's beautiful.Listening to this music I feel inspired to write, to read more Ogden Nash and to create things that never existed before. My coffee is warm and so is the air around me. It's comforting and leaves me feeling safe. My shoulders are bare and the light is barely coming through the clouds. I really love the movie Closer, there is something so real about the relationships between the characters and their melancholy love tales. Natalie, Clive, Jude and Julia, good kids. I feel it in my legs, the biking from yesterday. Tomorrow there is a Billabong sample sale at 67 Mowat Avenue. Two weeks ago I wished they would have one so I could get a new bathing suit for my birthday, then I got an email a couple days later. Thank you universe, you listen to my thoughts and you bring me closer.

mum says i need a helmet

Last night I had a bbq with some of my besties ever. Our boy @NickiP is visiting from Curacao and we took it to the roof and roasted some meat. The sky was full of colour and the tower was unobstructed.Mum rung me last night knowing that I'm back on the bike and insisted that ask I my online friends to help me find something to protect my head. When I was younger Mum said "No more riding bike without helmet" and from then on I never rode a bike until I moved out of the house. I had a BMX bike in Bondi that had pegs on the back. This red cruiser is my favorite.Please help me find a red helmet that's not mortifying. I want to wear a helmet. Wearing a helmet may not be 'the coolest' but neither is being brain dead.

Sometimes I wish I was a cartoon. I would run up walls and jump and fly and all kinds of super things. I saw Wolverine movie last night. Hugh JACKman should be called 'Hugh jacked man'. He's massive. I really like the Bloor Varsity - VIP section. You can order a bevvy & food to your seat.

Did some serious writing when I got home last night. The book gets closer every day. I paid my friend whose laid off to clean my room. What a surprise to come home to, a floor and closet full of clothes. An old book from the 1940's lay on my desk from Mum. I picked up the book and as I opened the fragile cover I read "The Face is Familiar: Selected Verse by Ogden Nash". He died on May 19, 1971 and was one of the worlds best humor poets. He inspires me to write/publish some of my quite funny ones. I like his style very much, I do.

You may have seen the article in the Toronto Star this weekend on Saturday's front cover entitled 'Generation Why Me?' It was related to recession, broken dreams and delayed ambitions.

So I think 30 IS the new 20 and after reading the article, I refer to what Mum likes to call 'poor me syndrome'. There are alot of people who are just lazy and unmotivated. This will never change, no matter what happens in the world. Sure, we're faced with environmental/ economic/war crisis happening but we also have more access to information, more opportunity to succeed and more ways to gaining expertise for free. Hello Internet? There are things out there you just have to go and get them, the strong will survive. I've got a B.Comm in International Business & marketing diploma - I work in the IT dept coordinating project sfor an online gaming company. Before this was the fashion industry! I've worked in restaurants, done PR blah blah blah...I've never had a problem finding a job because I've always been determine NOT to fail.I also agree with @d_hock the most, if someone is going to complain & wah wah about 'poor me, I'm GenY', I say...shut your face. Get up and do something about it! I have many more thoughts the awesomeness that is #GenyTO but I'll save that for another day.

Beautiful day. Cutest puppy ever - chihuahua/pug. Totally pet that little guy. If you're in a hurry don't go near Fresh & Wild at Spadina. Nice and tasty but slow compared to a factory like Starbucks. Wearing the gladiators today. Feeling glad. Its May the Forth and it's a wonderful day. Lots of birthday wishes coming my way. Heading to a HotDoc tonight, hopefully Objectified.

I am a really lucky girl. I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life. Birthday week is all about connecting with my friends and thanking them for being themselves. The Drake Hotel has great breakfast. The thing that makes it most the great of all is when you get a seat in the sunshine and you can watch people around you. Interesting. Entertaining. Cute. Stylish. Unique. Some smart. Some insane. My favorites.There was a guy carrying around a Marxism book. I think it was an accessory. Does anyone really read a 10 pound old Marx novel or do they just 'carry it for looks'? I think the latter. I like lattes and grapefruit. I had a pretty standard brekky but I did recently have the Southern fried chicken and waffles. I told the waffles girls they need to check that shiz out when they are in town this week. Hopefully we can meet. Been sharing mutual love online.

Yesterday at the TFC was amazing. I've never wanted to be a fan of a game as much as I did being in th. I had a blast. I'm very grateful that my friend took me. I yelled my guts out. Clapped, whistled, jumped up and down and made friends. It was a tie and the fans are the most intense I've ever seen in pro sports. The weather was a roller coaster of fun. Rain, sun, rain, sun, rain, sun. Luckily Av had these killer TFC rain parkas that he got during the first season.I sat in the rain and drank my beer and I was warm and dry. I love the skyline. This is a great city.

I was also super satisfied with the food. I had a chip butty. Last time I had a chip butty I was 12 and at Shelly Beach in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. I was with my family and Mum caught a flounder with a stick. I also went swimming with with dolphins about an hour out in the ocean. It was absolutely amazing.

This photo is amazing; BMO/Carlsberg, don't be shy now, you know you love it. I made friends with some cool peeps after the game. I was drinking on the Carlsberg tab at Brazen and checked out that bestmate.ca contest you told me about. Entered it. Not sure where I can see my profile? I also met a lovely babe from MAC at Rasputin Vodka Bar. Cool place. Looking forward to being better friends with MAC and Carlsberg.

I'm going to the TFC game today with a friend. Excited and dressed the part. My friend has a TFC scarf for me so I can really be 'in' it. I've been once before but this is birthday related which makes it better. I think that H1N1 is a better name for the flu but it also looks like 'hini' which sounds like 'hiney' which rhymes with swiney which is funny. And the flu was named by the WHO. Make the connection. I did. Stephen Harper called it the Mexican Flu the other day. I LMFAO. Had breakfast at School in Liberty Village. They're kinda slow and the patio wasn't open. I like the way it looks there. Very schooley. I was at the CONTACT opening last night. Will post about that later. Have some q&a to finish up.

Rent paid. No new metro pass yet. Postie beside me again. Read a friends story this morning and it inspires me to have friends that do amazing things. Its warm today, cloudy with sun peeking though just enough necessary for sunnies. Glad the Tamil protest is over. I don't like people fighting in the streets. My friend said the ambo's couldn't get to the hospitals fast because of them. I wanna see the Wolverine movie. Hugh Jackman, I like him, especially in that role. There's an article in the Metro about timeraiser.com , cool idea. I'm looking forward to the next #genyTO. Adoration by Egoyan, I'd like to see that one too. The Mississauga McCallion is really old and creepy. I never wanna live in that burb. SJP is having twins and Lohan is hopped up on energy drinks. Everyone seems to be taking something. That guys coffee smells damn good. Late start today but feeling great. Looking forward to the weekend, its almost here!

It's not nearly as warm as it looks outside. The sun is shining and so am I but the air is breezy and cold. I walked past a truck that said 'smart' on it and I thought, hey that's me. There's three more cases of Swine Flu in the GTA. Mild, but still crazy. I don't like pigs. They gross me out. I'm glad I never went to Mexico, I don't think I will ever go now. Not really into dying, there's lots of other nice beaches that aren't deadly. I love this spot in the afternoon. The sun shines so very bright. I just got a cheque for retro pay on a raise, exciting but not massive. I'd like a massive cheque with my name on it. Or a trip. Or a new laptop. Or new shoes. I love shoes. I pulled these red boots out from storage. I love red shoes the most. I like red cars too. I used to think red cars go faster. I've never had a car. I never needed one. I'd like my first car to be a Porsche. Dad wants a Porsche too. Chatted him today. He's busy building hot rods. I like that. He sounds happy. I'm happy too.

Just because you are in Australia, doesn't mean you can wear your bathing suit EVERYWHERE. When we got there we thought that it was a-ok so we went all over the place dressed like this. The ferry, subway, lunch, Opera House. Really obvious that you're a tourist if you do that.

Rainy day again. I was watching the news about Swine Flu last night. Creepy stuff. I started thinking to myself. 1. Good thing I didn't go to Mexico 2. Who did go to Mexico that I've hung out with and could contaminate me and kill me? Hopefully I'm safe.

Last night I sat on the couch and and started drawing a comic strip. It's Elsa Cohen's Adventures in Super Blogging. I'm working on it. Here's a first sketch for now...I also took some time to read old stuff I wrote. I hope you enjoy it. I thought all these things when I was 15. I still think it's important to be yourself, I still love McDonald's and you are never to old to play in leaves or snow. Have a great day!

Who mama. What a windy bitch she was on Saturday between 5-6pm. I freaked and was kinda creeped when I looked out the window only to see random garbage and debris flying by. It was nutso! There's massive condo building construction happening near my place which made for sand and materials all over the place. I have never seen a storm quite like it. I got some video footage, it was kinda scary. Camera needed a tight grip, the wind was snatching stuff from all the balconies!

I had an awesome weekend. I'm digging that I'm not making myself feel like I have to blog on the weekend. Now that it's springy and warm outside I want to get out and enjoy it. Really, really gotta get my bike on the road. I'm wearing open toed shoes today. The Gladiators. Today is Samuel Morse birthday and Google's logo is in Morse code. I dig it. I've thought about getting a poem I wrote tattooed in Morse code. I like the way it looks.Cara and I went to Frock Swap on Saturday afternoon near Kensington. It was lovely. I snagged a few nice dresses. I'm lucky that so many vintage dresses are mini and they fit me just right. I always find a few jems. I wore these Pooh's on my head while I was there. I liked them, they made me feel cool.

I wore a strapless long dress tho show the shoulders to the sun. They got some love for sure. I also picked up a few new pairs of glasses. Necessary to have about a zillion pairs. I lose/break a few each year and I've got a drawer full of backups. Happy that the sun came out to play.

I walked part of the way today. So sunny and mild. Woke up early. Wore a summer dress, one that's good for biking. The tower in the sky looks beautiful. I love when kids wear fake tattoos. So funny. Was busy in the sketch book last night. I had an art attack. This is one of about 5 new babies. I play Mario Kart on the streetcar, mostly on Fridays. I never see girls gaming but I think it would be cute if I did. Lots of work to do today. Wore my Wellies, we might get a thunderstorm. I'm undecided on my feelings about Breakfast Television and CP24. I like Frankish and Dina but the CP24 news/weather/traffic etc. all on one screen is so convenient. Its going to be really nice out. I can feel it already. I'm listening to my blip.fm station. Good tunes on there. I'm DJ Basketcase.

I was living in Fort Wayne, Indiana with for part of 2005. It was an interesting experience living in the US. I like Canada better. I didn't work (no visa) and spent most days around the house, burning DVD's and writing.

I'm wearing a mum outfit today. Her old belt that still smells like New Zealand and a shortened Dashiki that matches my orange vintage boots. Tomorrow is going to warm but today its so windy and cold. I think I'm going to write on my way in more often. I lost my computer and ipod so now I use what I got, my device and thoughts and spend less time on the actual computer. I'm inspired in the morning, except for sporadic days when I am not. I usually wake up with a smile. Damn its cold. This morning I woke up to a message from a friend that said he's in London England and the style there reminds him of me. I think that's the nicest thing ever. I've never been to London but I know about style there. I can't type as fast as thoughts fly, I can barely talk that fast and when I do its funny and I sound like a nut. I missed a call from a magazine editor last night. I wonder what he wants? H has the closing party for his art show tonight and I'm also planning to chat with Poster Boy. I'm going to make some. Cut and paste was one of my most favorite things to do at the kitchen table when I was younger. It still is along with writing. I wrote a poetry book in 1996 called Jeans. It's not on Amazon because its out of print, its time for a new book. We started our publishing company without Internet and did it old the fashion way. We learned a lot. Its seems so easy now. I forgot my sunnies, the vintage ones from France. They would have matched perfect. As I take off my jacket I forget I wore this. I smile thinking of Mum and also what my friend is going to say. He makes fun of my clothes all time but its because I'm unique and he knows I can take it. It's fun. I hope you have a great day.

This elevator smells like cheap perfume and its probably you. There's posties beside me and they converse over condos and routes. Seasons affect them, they affect me too, like the weather. I've been called crazy more times than I care to count. So, when I wanted something really unique and crazy couture I could only think of Peach Beserk. I had an awesome time just being in the shop and learning. I took part in drawing a design, making the screen and then using the paint to do my very first screen print. I have a feeling this could become my new favorite. Imagine the freedom!My dress had been worn a few times and I carefully put my little design & name on it. PB has heaps of famous ladies wearing their stuff including Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Portia de Rossi, Bif Naked, Caroline Rhea, and Miss Paula Abdul among others.

I kinda wished I was back in high school so I could make a crazy print prom dress and show all the kids that I was cooler than them. I remember I wore pants to one once and that was a real shocker back then.

I'm really looking forward to summer as I always do this time of year. I'm definitely a summer kinda girl. H and I went to the beaches this weekend. It was awesome to put my feet in the sand.

It was really relaxing to take a stroll on the boardwalk in the sun (and wind). There were heaps of people out from the TO Kiting community. Kiting is really hard. Last summer I went with 'kiter' friends up to North Sauble for the weekend and I didn't even get in the water. Just handling one of those big units is tough work. I went on my friends back while he was kiting and we totally got some air. It was awesome and scary at the same time. I loved it.

Canada is a wonderful country and Toronto a splendid city. Both are known places where people smoke marijuana regularly. Today is an extra rainy April day and also marks a day celebrated around the world in Cannabis culture known as 4:20 (four-twenty). Toronto has a pot friendly neighbourhood called Youngsterdam and a variety friendly places to smoke downtown.

Each year in May there is a Global Marijuana March where people around the world protest for legalization and the right to smoke pot. This year's event is Saturday, May 2nd. A few years ago I attended the Marijuana March at Queens Park. It was fun. There were over 20,000 people in the park celebrating so I figured, when in Rome!

We had a blackout on Saturday night. It started at about 6:30 and went until just after sun set for my section of buildings. I wish it had looked this way during Earth Hour.This week is Earth Week with Earth Day on Wednesday. After our power was back on I went to have a shower and the water was brown and dirty. Imagine, a billion people go without access to clean water each day. The first well was drilled recently from the funds we raised at Twestival, you can see it here. I captured the nasty water so I can remember just how gross it was.

Today is a wonderful day because I will be taking the afternoon off. I will be lazing around by the pool in my bikini with a fresh fruit smoothie and a blanket. I'm thinking that I should bring a sunbrella so I can have some shade. Wore a cute outfit today. The neon Harvey's shades that are MINE from the 80's top it off for sure.

I'm gonna post about it later but you should totally check out the Peach Beserk design a dress site. It's totally rad. I hung out at the shop yesterday and did some screen printing. It was the coolest thing ever. You can pick everything including the hair. I made this pink & red one. Stylespiration. After letting some creative juices flow I went to #postworkdrinks at Gretzky's and let me tell you, it was hoot! The Tweeps are so cool. It was a good time. Happy to see YOU ALL again. Tomorrow is going to be SUPER awesome, I'm talking like 18 degrees and 100% sunshine. For this reason, I have appropriately taken the afternoon off. Tonight is going to be a busy one. I'm heading to meet Miss Kingi Carpenter at Peach Beserk on Queen then to the Redwire launch party. Peach Beserk is having a launch party for their new Online Dress Designer. Yahooo! I've loved this shop forever and am yet to own anything. Kingi said to bring along something to print and I've carefully packed this little red number from AA. It's washed & ready to become something new!

I had a lovely lunch outside today. I wasn't sure what to eat and I recalled a time back in Bondi when I was really struggling for money. I used to go to the deli and get a bun and piece of meat and that was lunch for just a couple bux.

This evening I connected my trusty old external drive to find something and it's like a time capsule. I also realize that I keep everything, take a zillion pictures and am a total loser sometimes. I've been through a few laptops over the years and I keep backing that ass up on the same drive and now it's like those boxes in mum's basement and dad's storage filled with memories. I've had so many different hair colours, lengths and cuts. You may have seen this long red haired one? Crazy.I also saw this crazy streak in the sky just before the sun set tonight. I had a friend that was all about looking into conspiracy theories and she was convinced it was chemtrails.

Last night I went to the Rap's game at the ACC. It was pretty fun. It was the last home game of the season and it was very energetic. They were also giving away TONS of stuff. My friend from college happened to be tossing out shirts and stuff right in my section and he tossed me this Bosh jersey. Still has the tag on it for $134.99. I asked Jenie if she can get it signed so I can sell it for big bux. I hear people like this Bosh guy.

I realized by the time I got home that I had too many beers which is stupid because I took it easy all weekend. Ah well, happens to the best of us!

Twestival Update - dig that well!

On February 12th 2009 I was part of a team that put together Twestival Toronto (#twestivalTO). If you don't know about Twestival I posted a bunch about it here and here. Our city was one of hundreds that took part to raise money for charity:water to drill wells in places where people did not have access to clean water. Toronto raised about $10,000 and all cities together raised about $250,000. The event was fun and I met a ton of great people because of it.

I'm happy to share with you that Twestival well drilling has begun. This video is Day 1 in Ethiopia. It's touching to see how happy the village is!

When I was little I used to cruise around with Dad in hot rods all the time. It was SO much fun!Yesterday I put on one of Mum's old Deuce Doins shirts from 1981 and went for a cruise with my friend Jeff. Nothing like cruising in the sunshine in an old classic!Was really nice out and the sun was shining bright. Lots of people out on the streets.

I know that lots of people have lots their jobs lately and I saw that they are hiring girls here and thought you should know. Since it's Easter the girl was wearing this lovely little bunny number just for you!

Good day yesterday. AGO was fun, I love it there. There's a few new guys up and they are putting up a teepee in the big open area behind the ticket checkers. I took home a post card of on guy I had a crush on. I don't know why I like him, I think it's the outfit and the pose. I popped into the members lounge with H, he's a member. Nice furniture but pretty plain in the coffee area. I expected a more swanky modern design. The old house, grange, is the original gallery house. It's been restored and reopened, hence why it was so historic looking. I heard from a reliable source that the upstairs isn't open because they didn't have enough money to get it up to building code. They store furniture and stuff up there now. Gehry insisted that they make the house the members lounge. There is some really nice art in the eating area downstairs too. Very modern.

Today is good Friday. All that means to me is l.o.n.g. weekend. Heck yes! I went for a walk and coffee and soaked up some sunshine. Then I came home and hung out with my BFF; we look very much alike.

I've been feeling super busy lately and have been looking forward to this weekend so I can chill out and relax. I love spending time at home with myself. It's really important to take time for yourself & recharge. If I don't get self time I get grumpy. Today, I'm feeling great. Happy Holiday to everyone celebrating. I'll be celebrating myself!

Last night I went to bed early and today I woke up early. I needed that. This fluctuating weather has got my energy spent. I had the pleasure of seeing one of my favorite furry friends, Smudgey. Smudge is a friends cat and my favorite. Those that know me well are aware that I am not the biggest fan of pets. I've never had a dog and it's been years since I had a cat. The thing I don't like is when their hair and slob get on your stuff. Especially when you stop by someones place before heading out while dressed nice and slobber-dog grazes your knee with his lips. Last night I attended an exclusive event at Gaffa's Fine Eyewear boutique on Queen Street. It was OK. Lots of people, style, music, wine and simple snacks. I was happy to be able to check it out. However, there was one problem, they promoted that there were these swanky gift bags for all attendees valued at $300. This obviously got peoples attention. The event was from 7-10.pm I went at 8:30, was told I was "too early for gift bag"by an employee. Annoying. So, I went back at 10pm and another girl said "oh we took the rest to Lobby". Like WTF. There was no way I'd be chasing that much! These glasses were my favorite. UPDATE: I got an email from Mr. Gaffas and maybe I will buy my glasses there. It was very nice of him to reply to my email. I understand that it was a 'gift' but I was there two times. I went to the event based on a friends recomendation from a far away country. I know it's a great shop with great glasses. I'll let you all know how my store visit goes tomorrow.

Happy it's Friday, I mean Thursday. Nothing much planned for the weekend because I would really like to rest and be lazy and stay at home and show my TV some TLC. Saw these guys looking pretty in the sunshine on the way to work.

When I was little my Dad had a hot rod shop called 'Toys for Boys'. That site is someone else in NSW, Australia but you get it. His shop was B.I. (Before Internet). He made some of the best hot rods around and worked with the now late Boyd Cottington. Dad also worked with the Horton team at Horton Street Rod & Parts in Breslau. Today's sweatshirt features one of Dad's 32's. I'm pretty sure Mum used to wear it.

This weekend, after making some delicious walnut bran muffins (naturally) I stopped in to the MTCC to check out the Yoga & Pilates conference.It was a very relaxed place to be since I had been at #pibTO and broke a world record earlier. I ran into some friends and also checked out some cool products. My favorite was the purses & accessories made from cork, which deserve their own post.Overall, it was probably much more interesting if you actually took a class. I just cruised around and listened to some musica.

I recently tweeted a message asking if anyone knew someone at HP because I had a complaint to lodge. I was ready to rage. Several minutes after my message was out in the world I got an email from someone at HP who is in charge of client relations and prompted me to contact them to state my case.We had purchased a $300 HP scanner that would not work with Vista and wasn't what we needed. Plain & simple. I waited on the phone for an hour once before getting cut off, 3 weeks passed before I could find the time to ring them again. When I did, the CSR said we couldn't return itfor an upgrade or different model (past 30 days). She did tell me HP had a program coming out in a few months where I could return it so I would just have to wait. I was like WTF? Are you serious?

Well, through some magic and my charm, HP sent a waybill and took our scanner back and now we have a new one that is about $200 more, without paying any extra or shipping. It can scan a ton of pages on auto and is much quieter. It has a special add on thingy to scan negatives too. My rep at HP is named Carl and he is very nice and helpfull. Nice one Carrrrrrrrrrrllll! Thanks HP!

i am now a world record breaking human

This past Saturday was #pibTO and we did it. We broke the Guinness World record for Coffee Acts of Kindness and has over 600 people buying coffee for the person behind them in line. This is very exciting and impressive considering it was probably the windiest day in Toronto ever (see example video).All the notable media were out to take part and cover the event. Darius is getting ready to chat CP24 and I'm having a hoot chatting it up with Oren from Rogers.

It was an amazing day filled with great people for a good cause. One hundred percent of the proceeds went to the SickKids Foundation. Check out all these good lookin' do-gooders!!

You can catch other mentions about #pibTO in today's Metro, BlogTO, Nitch blog. One of my favorite parts of the day was Mr.Scott Jackson beatbox champion. He is amazing.

I recently did an interview with Sheryl Steinberg for an article in the Globe and Mail. The article is about women and applications & accessories they use to suite their female needs & wants in a smartphone. I currently this theme and a custom skin I made on the back. One of most interesting things I find about this article is the comments on the online version! People feel so free so say whatever they want online and remaining anonymous. I think that is annoying and cowardly, but I also believe in doing what you feel like. I like to know who's who and I always comment as myself.

Sheryl let me know I was happy to learn that she has a new book coming out that's about "learning to be a modern woman in a wireless world"; I'm thinking chick-lit meets technology and starts talking nerdy?

I arrived on location at about 11am on Saturday. It was mighty windy and most of the team was already in motion. We had to make sure all was going to stay put with the wild wild wind!

We successfully got the backdrop in a safe place! Ha ha wind, you are no match for a team of do-gooders. Look at @d_hock, no one can stop him.

I was doing chalk art. I was in heaven. Nothing more fun than being part of a team when you get to do one of your favorite things ever. Did you know they have crayola spray chalk for kids now? It didn't work that well so I stuck to the old school drawing style.

The day has finally come! I'm stoked for #pibTO today at 1pm. If you haven't got all the details or joined in on FB, that's a-OK all you have to do is SHOW UP for 1pm to Second Cup at Queen & John. It's meant to clear up by mid-day and not be too wet. If it is wet, don't let that stop you from being involved in something really awesome. I'll be rocking my favorite Wellies and rain coat just in case! You'll be able to find me with the media, Raptors girls, Flow 93.5, Freestyle Soccer, and lots of others on location at 1pm. It was really awesome to see many familiar and new faces. I met some tres cool people and have lots of pix that I will add to the #genyto group on FB later this weekend.This month's meetup was at Andy Pool Hall. Must say I'm sorry that some of my stickers got 'stuck' on the pool hall and not just on peoples clothes etc. I won't be going back there with this a haircut. I recieved a nasty email today from Andy's that went something like "your f***in stickers, what the f**k ". Sheesh, sorry guise. Don't have to be so mean about it.

I had a blast dancing, it's abviously a really classy place. I wasn't quite having as much fun as barefoot lady. She went all out! For real.

I'm really excited to be part of this growing group of wired, creative, motivated young people. Seeing the growth from the first #genyto in February to last night's April meetup has been really cool. I've met some of the most inspiring & fun people ever.

Spring is in the air and I was feeling like an update. I get my hair done by Darren at his lofty salon in the heart of Queen Street West.

I love it! Darren you did an awesome job! It's super blonde and I got a new shave. I'm really happy. So glad I had camera with me this time. You can get Darren to do your hair too if you want it to look beautiful.

I'm really looking forward to Saturday for #pibTO. There has been lots of attention around the event and coverage from a number of sources including The Globe, Punch PR and Sweetspot.ca. It was mentioned on BT this morning, if you were watching!! There are over 600 confirmed attendees! We are going to knock Starbucks right outta the park!!

These pix are some of the #pibTO team. We were having such a great time at the meeting and I thought it would be nice to share. We're got bibs with numbers on them and an official counter so we will know as soon as the record has been beat! Second Cup will be serving fair trade coffee and 50% of the proceeds go to SickKids Hospital. Every hundredth person wins a $50 itunes gift card. Hmm, I wish I had an iphone.

On Saturday Toronto's Flow 93.5 will be broadcasting live on location at Second Cup at Queen & John. The Street Team will be there as you exit Second Cup to a crowd of 'Do Gooders', photographers and notable Toronto celebrities. We will be be giving out $50 iTunes gift cards to every hundredth person as they make their way through the line.

Canada’s professional basketball trickster, Q-Mack and North American Freestyle Soccer Champion, Eli Freeze and his Canadian Freestyle Soccer team will be sharing tricks and techniques. These athletes will be a great attraction for people of all ages!

Helping out behind the Second Cup counter serving drinks will be Michael Landsberg, the host of TSN's Off The Record, and Erica Ehm one of Canada's most recognized television personalities & host of the Yummy Mummy Club.

Tonight I am meeting with the team of organizers for Pay it Backward day, which is on Saturday at 1pm. It's going to be a fun Saturday afternoon! Today is a sunny day. I like that.

Mum sends us clothes here and there and she has great style. I pulled this guy out of the closet today and rushed out the door. One of the boys in the office said would "come by my desk to check out a book". haha. I get it. I like this dress, it has pockets. I had to cut head off here, face was wrinkled up.

I'm loving the new neon units. They are SO VIBRANT. I feel like if I was a pastel, I would be neon, electric yellow or pink or purple...or one of those multicolored swirl ones. Yes, for sure.

Today was rainy but it cleared up after about 1pm. Mum and I walked over to the ACC to see the ball game. Jenie was dancing and we were excited to see her. I don't really watch any sports as a hobby. I brought my neon pastels to the Raptors game with my Moloeskine and drew some bright stuff. It was fun. So much energy there, it was electric.

Game was exciting, I enjoyed it. Hanging with the fams is really fun. Mum and Jenie & James.

Last night was really, really windy. I was woken by the fierce raindrops on my window. Yesterday went to the art shop and then I can home and made art with these guys.

Mum is in the city today as we are going to see sister dance at the Raptors game. I took her for a tour of my office this morning and to the Old York. I never go to the office on weekends and I accidentally set off the alarm and all the sirens were going off and I just looked at mum & laughed. I saved the day by calling a lifeline and getting him on the phone before the alarm company did. Phew. Was a close one. No cops showed up. #thankyouverymuch

Today I got a message that was a link to the following images. At first, I thought oh cool postering, but then I looked a little closer. I noticed the borderline and then the neon and the face and the name, it's me.

"ll get you my pretty, and your little blog too." I love it. He suprised me with this today. Toronto Posterboy is a Toronto artist. You can find him on Twitter and if you want to know more about postering his company is called WellHung. He is a smart cookie that Posterboy, I have a site called borderline artistic where I have a collection of artistic things like drawings and poems. It's an online art gallery. He put my face in neon near the Borderline on Queen Street. Awesomism.

Last night I made a nice dinner. I really love cooking. I don't talk about it much because I'm not a food blogger. I hate talking about what I eat. Not fun to me so I don't do it often. However, last night...
It was lovely. Today I went to the AGO again. I was alone and I took a very introspective view. I only looked at things I like the most and for only as long as I felt like. It is a very free feeling. I had my Moleskine and pencil, camera, the important stuff. I got a picture of one of my favorite guys, but I'm nervous to post it.

Today is a beautiful day. Might even go over 10 degrees! Whoa, nice but not quite open toe time yet.

I love driving into work and feeling the bright sun. We rocked out to some tunage and put the windows down. It was so much fun.

There horses are near the office all the time. The Police keep then just around the corner and bring them out more when the weather warms up for a little Liberty Village strut.

Today I'm wearing Liquid Shot from Threadless and my old Chuck Taylor's. It's a good day. Thinking about getting a pedicure for lunch...

I helped out with TwestivalTO in February, an event that took place at CiRCA and was part of a world wide effort to raise money for Charity Water. Toronto raised over $10,000 and we had hundreds of people out. It was a great party! Our friends at Daily Challenge are doing something awesome and when they asked for me to join their team for the event, I was all in!

The event is called Pay It Backward Day and the idea came from one of the earliest challenges for DC. It involves doing something nice and purchasing a drink for the person behind you in line (see image->). The goal is to beat Starbucks who have the current world record and get 500 people in a row to take part.

It is on Saturday, April 4th at Queen & John, Second Cup. It's right across the street from Much Music. The New Flow 93.5 will be broadcasting live, there will be all kinds of interesting stuff going on.
I've never broken a world record, that I know of, and I would really like your help to do it. So come. Join in on FB. I took this pix-mix of our city on the way to work today - Toronto the GOOD!

Today after a meeting I came back my desk to find a lovely little t-shirt shaped package from Threadless. They are having a huge sale and I ordered a few goodies. I love getting mail. Their packaging is adorable, it arrived fast and prices can not be beat. Also, you are more likely to have unique clothes than the other kids who pick up their stuff at wanna-be hipster retail chains. Here's my new goodies. I got two shirts that glow in the dark too. Yahoooooooooooots!

I went to grab a coffee this afternoon and it was so cold and windy. I hate that. However, I did meet someone cool while I was at the coffee shop. His name is Jeff Adams. You may know of him? He is a two-time Olympian, four-time Paralympian, six-time World Champion, and former World Record Holder in the 1500 m men's wheelchair event. His 800 m gold in Sydney was a record-breaker. He is co-founder of Marvel Wheelchairs and his workshop is right near my office. He invited my to check out the shop and I would really love that!

This is a photo of one of my pieces I did with pastels. It is called 'Strike Out in a Different Direction'. It is full of light, energy, attraction, fire & passion. This is one of my most expensive ones because I like it the most. I think I will keep forever, unless an offer comes along I can not resist!! I'm planning on doing some painting this weekend. Looks like rain is on its way and thatinspires me to make art.

I don't remember where it came from. I think I was watching a movie or something? If you know please inform me, I have a bad memory, as you already know. I drew this sketch as I was watching [insert movie here]. There is a chance it was not in a movie and it was my real life or something that really happened. This, I may never know.

I over heard "anyone deemed rich enough to plant their own orange trees". I think it means if you can plant your own orange trees, you aren't doing too bad. I've never had an orange tree. Granddad had passion fruit trees in NZ, now that's my favorite. I guess a passion fruit tree would mean you're living a passionate & sweet life!

I first posted my collection 'Unnecessary Wheels" late last year. I have added more to the ever growing group of 'things with unnecessary wheels'. I took photos of a few today to share. I'm really looking forward to displaying them all together some time. Each image is made up & drawn with pastel, paint, marker etc on 60lb, 30% post-consumer acid free fiber. I use a Strathmore sketchbook from the first and only U.S. paper manufacturer to use wind generated electricity to run their paper mills. I share with you from my Unnecessary Wheels Collection - dumbbells, matchbox & motor canoe.

This morning I stopped into School Bakery & Cafe in Liberty Village before work. I was pleased with my coffee and toast. The prices are a little more than most other morning spots but, I liked the way it looked. I checked out their site and it seems they have Friday Night School dance party that looks like fun by the hot babe in the the ad. They way all their stuff written online and offline has gotten my attention for sure. I love the typography of the big 'schoolish' letters and the chalk boards. I think I'll be going back to School.

I'm a big fan if any type of dance party and especially improv dance parties. Might you recall the subway dance party? I've seen this video along with various others from improv groups around the world. This one, a T-Mobile commercial was filmed at Liverpool Station. It's my favorite. I'd love to take part in something like this in our wonderful city! Mum sent it to me and I thought other peeps might like to check it out also. Enjoy!

the brightest light in my life

On the weekend I spent a lovely day with Mum. She has just returned from New Zealand and brought back some treats. I feel quite lucky because she managed to find and bring back some of her old clothes for us. I got a great dress she made (yes, made) when she was about 15 as well as a gorgeous leather belt. She brought my sister back a pair of her old boots that are totally rad. Mum found some old photos of herself, she is so cool and has always been a stylish young lady!One of the things I really miss about NZ are the treats. There are so many wonderful things to enjoy! Mum packed up a goodie bag for us each! Yum yum!We stopped into Lahore Tikka House for lunch. The food was fantastic as usual. However, they are using Styrofoam plates and cups which I find to be wasteful and horrible for the environment. Maybe they will change this behavior? I did see the following things that I found to be amusing:Note the handwritten sign stating that you can have a "piece of history" by purchasing an Obama t-shirt. Nice.

On Friday night I went to CiRCA for Cut Copy. It was packed. There were heaps of hipsters and cool kids crowding the stage & stairs. I ran into some cool friends and made some new ones also. There was lots of neon, sequins, and anything that might have rocked the eighties. This, I loved. I wore the shiny late night mini skirt from American Apparel in electric purple with a reversible clutch from BettyKiss. I first posted about Cut Copy last summer. They are from Australia and totally rad. I connected the boys later in the evening and snapped a few pix. The band is made up of Dan Whitford , vocals/keyboard/guitar, Tim Hoey on bass/sampler, & Mitchell Scott on drums. They were really nice guys. I'd really like to catch them at a small venue or a house party. Next time!

When I was last home visiting Mum I came across an old journal of mine from when I was eleven. To read it is simply divine. I am happy to relive my own life through it. My writing style is similar and my attitude is the same. I will post some excerpts from it one of these days!

Also in my room is this lovely photo of Audrey and a quote I admire. It from a book by Genevive Antoine Dariaux called A Guide to Elegance: For Every Woman Who Wants to Be Well and Properly Dressed on All Occasions. It's a great read and contains everything from accessories to zippers in a classic & elegant style. I discovered it reading Elegance by Kathleen Tessaro, also a great chic lit book.
